Captain George Bartenback is the owner and operator of the Captain Rod. As a third generation family run business, Captain Bartenback has forty years of experience fishing the Great South Bay. Captain Danny Poland has been sharing the helm for the past thirty years as well.  The Captain Rod herself is a very comfortable 65 feet over all sturdy fishing vessel fitted with the latest in Coast Guard Approved and required safety equipment. Finding the fish requires both experience and the latest in fishing finding equipment, both are available on the Capt. Rod. Offering such amenities as a heated spacious cabin, separate and clean rest rooms, cold sodas, AM coffee, beverages and snack are available, also a sundeck for those sun worshipping fishermen and a peaceful and family oriented atmosphere makes the Capt. Rod the boat to board when you want to enjoy a family day of fun. Our experienced, helpful and friendly crew will assist you in any way possible. They will happily work with beginners of all ages while providing the regulars with bait, cleaning fish and re-rigging rods Captain Rod provides everyone with all bait and tackle that matches the type of fish being sought after.
